AIR DEFENSE

A country’s ability to freely protect its airspace is crucial for full independence and complete protection. As long as the endless sky is open to all kinds of threats, the territory of the country cannot be considered safe. For this reason, having advanced air and missile defense systems in addition to air warfare platforms has gained more importance today. The need for air defense systems is increasing day by day.
Over time, new air threats, including attack helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), cruise missiles and ballistic missiles, have led to the development of more effective and diverse air defense systems. It is technology that defines the race between air threats and combating air threats. Each new technology improves both air threats and air defense systems.

While advances in technology increase the capabilities of air platforms, they also bring new threats. Long-range air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles with low-visibility technology, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles, smart munitions, unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) and UAV swarms that can be used on these platforms pose a great threat to air defense systems.

The main purpose of air defense systems is to detect and destroy enemy aircraft. Radars and sensors detect aircraft, missiles and rockets. Fire control systems and weapon systems provide target guidance and minimize the loss of time. Finally, weapons and ammunition destroy, neutralize or degrade the target.

GMKA, provides interactive management of all onboard sensors and countermeasures. This improves the situational awareness of the air crew and maximizes its survivability. GMKA is an innovative supplier of manned and unmanned aerial systems.
