Intelligence is the ability of the mind to learn, make use of what is learnt, adapt to new situations and find new solutions. In other words, intellect is the culmination of capabilities resulting from the harmonious work of various abilities of the mind.
For example, educators define intelligence as the ability to learn; whereas biologists define it as the ability to adapt to the environment, psychologists as the ability to reach a solution through reasoning and data processors as the ability to process information. Thus, the definition of intelligence, at its core, is the ability to adapt, solve problems and learn from experience; although, the definition may vary depending on the field of interest, time and culture. With this in mind, the most striking feature of intelligence is its ability to adapt to the environment and provide survivability.
