GMKA DEFENSE’S VIEW ON NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL SECURITY CONCEPTS AND SECURITY PERCEPTIONS IN THE WORLD

The human struggle to feel safe is based on the fact that humans have continuously experienced external threats throughout history.
This threat can stem from all types of beings, including humans themselves.

Within this context, some societies and states prefer to stay away from world problems to ensure their security, while others see the whole world as their own living space and believe that complete security can only be achieved by completely conquering this space. Similarly, while some of them form different alliances to ensure their own security, others try to reach this goal through diplomatic methods. Essentially, the goal to be achieved with these and many similar methods is always the same.

GMKA has learned to identify exactly where international organizations and law stand. Based on these definitions, we determined that the security phenomenon has two different dimensions. The first of these is the physical dimension, which refers to the state of being free from fear and danger; the second is the psychological dimension that refers to the feeling of being away from fear and danger. The existence of tangible and intangible perceptions of security has facilitated the task of decision-makers in terms of understanding whether the threat encountered is concrete or intangible in a decision to be taken on security and foreign policy issues.

However, throughout history, states have placed more emphasis on the physical dimension of security and have shaped their strategies according to concrete dangers and threats. The crucial point here based on the logic of the certainty of borders, nation-states prioritize the protection of borders and try to avoid threats to these borders posed by other states.
